College Students

Welcome College Students!

Martin Luther Chapel’s ministry to college students (undergrads and grads) seeks to encourage their relationship with God and with one another. Together with community residents, we seek to grow in that relationship and to live for Him in all we do.

Do you know a student attending MSU?

Our faith community welcomes all newcomers including students and local residents. Our focus is to provide a church home to students while they are in the East Lansing area. If you know an MSU student, help us connect with those in our community by filling out a short form. Any information collected will be used for ministry purposes only.

Student Leadership Teams

Do you want to grow in faith and fellowship alongside your peers? Joining a Student Leadership Team at Martin Luther Chapel can give you the opportunity for just that! Build connections in the student community, and work with resident members of East Lansing to help your college-town community while you are here at school. Joining a team can lift you to new standards while honing your communication and leadership skills — and it’s a lot of fun! Learn more about joining a team below.

Leadership Opportunities

Wednesday ON FIRE

Our dedicated Wednesday ON FIRE leaders organize and participate in our Wednesday evening contemporary services. You do not have to be musically-versed to be a part of this team! Leaders duties also include organizing weekly speaker volunteers, creating PowerPoints to accompany music, and operating AV equipment.

Lutheran Student Organization

The Lutheran Student Organization is our Chapel’s MSU Registered Student Organization. This team works through the university to create outreach opportunities on-campus. The team is also responsible for organizing our annual application for the ASMSU grant — a grant which allows our teams to continue to provide outreach in the student community, as well as the corners of the globe through our yearly Servant Event Trip.

Peer Ministers

Peer Ministers are a group that are charged with facilitating connections between students in our community. They organize bible studies, workshops, and events for college students to participate in – emphasizing the importance of building a support structure within a student’s faith community.

What other students say

The past four years at Martin Luther Chapel have meant the world to me. I was able to grow in my faith in a supportive and encouraging environment, and I grew in my leadership skills. These things I know I will carry with me throughout my next stages in life.
