Welcome!
Our ministry to college students seeks to encourage their relationship with God and with one another. Together with community residents, we seek to grow in that relationship and to live for Him in all we do.
Do you know a student attending MSU?
Our faith community welcomes all newcomers including students and local residents. Our focus is to provide a church home to students while they are in the East Lansing area. If you know an MSU student, help us connect with those in our community by filling out a short form. Any information collected will be used for ministry purposes only.

Fantastic Facilities
Experience a change of scenery close by, off campus. Martin Luther Chapel is blessed with a beautiful building to house its activities! Relax or study in our cozy Fireside Lounge on one of the couches. Head down to the lower level to make a pot of coffee or cook some dinner in our kitchen. Our building has free WiFi, so you don’t have to worry about disconnecting while you visit.
Student Leadership Teams
Do you want to grow in faith and fellowship alongside your peers? Joining a Student Leadership Team at Martin Luther Chapel can give you the opportunity for just that! Build connections in the student community, and work with resident members of church to help your college-town community while you are here. While on a team you can hone your communication and leadership skills — and have fun at the same time! Learn more about joining a team below.
Leadership Opportunities
Lutheran Student Organization
The Lutheran Student Organization is our Chapel’s MSU Registered Student Organization. This team works through the university to create outreach opportunities on-campus. The team is also responsible for organizing our annual application for the ASMSU grant — a grant which allows our teams to continue to provide outreach in the student community, as well as the corners of the globe through our yearly Servant Event Trip.
What other students say
The past four years at Martin Luther Chapel have meant the world to me. I was able to grow in my faith in a supportive and encouraging environment, and I grew in my leadership skills. These things I know I will carry with me throughout my next stages in life.
