Tools for Giving
There are a variety of ways you can contribute to the ministry at Martin Luther Chapel. Gifts without restriction provide the maximum flexibility and enable the ministry to meet unexpected needs or to expand its ministry. However, you may also designate your gift for a specific part of the ministry.
Outright Cash Gift You can make an outright gift of cash by mailing a personal check made payable to Martin Luther Chapel.
Gifts of Securities A gift of stocks, bonds, real estate, or other assets may be made to Martin Luther Chapel. An outright gift of appreciated stock eliminates any capital gains tax and allows you to claim an income-tax deduction based on the full market value of long-term securities, regardless of their original cost.
Bequest by Will You can designate a gift or portion of your estate to Martin Luther Chapel and, in some cases, receive a substantial reduction in federal gift and estate taxes. You may fund such a gift with cash, marketable securities, real estate, tangible property, or closely held stock.
IRAs, 401(k) or 403(b) or other Retirement Plans Naming Martin Luther Chapel as beneficiary of these plans will benefit our ministry and may also result in significant tax benefits.
Life Insurance There are a variety of ways life insurance can be utilized as a gift. They include: 1) giving a paid up policy; 2) assigning the annual dividends of a policy; 3) designating the Chapel as the beneficiary of an existing policy; and 4) purchasing a new policy and designating the Chapel as the owner and beneficiary of the policy.
Charitable Remainder Trust You can place cash or property in a trust that pays annual income to you (or another named beneficiary) for life. After your death, remaining assets transfer to Martin Luther Chapel. You receive income tax benefits the year you establish your trust.
Charitable Lead Trust You can place cash or property into a trust that pays a fixed amount to Martin Luther Chapel for the number of years you select. Once this period ends, the assets held by the trust are transferred to the beneficiaries you name. In some cases, you receive a substantial reduction in federal gift and estate taxes.
Other assets may also be given to the Chapel with possible tax benefits, such as, collectibles, real property, etc. For more information please contact Martin Luther Chapel.
