Katrina Weirauch Engle

President, Martin Luther Chapel

Katrina Weirauch Engle is a graduate of Michigan State in human biology, and from the Michigan State College of Osteopathic Medicine.  She currently practices as a family physician.  She has served as the president of Martin Luther Chapel for the past year, and as a member of the stewardship team for the past 8 years.  As a student, she was a member of the Peer Ministers, and led Servant Events to Juarez, Mexico and New Orleans. 

Billy Seeger

Vice President, Martin Luther Chapel

William Seeger is a graduate of Michigan State University with a degree in Civil Engineering. He currently works as an engineer for the Michigan Department of Transportation. He is originally from Lansing, Michigan where he attended Everett High School. He is a member of Martin Luther Chapel and is currently the Vice President of the church.  As an undergraduate he was part of the Peer Minister leadership team for two years and co-led the weekly college student Bible Study. He is currently engaged to Alexa Walkowicz and enjoys metal working.

Ally Kundinger

Council Secretary

Ally Kundinger is a graduate of Michigan State in biological sciences in Lyman Briggs College. She is from Midland, MI and a graduate of Valley Lutheran H.S. in Saginaw, MI. She is a member of Martin Luther Chapel and has served as MLC Council Secretary for the past two years.  As an undergraduate she was a Lutheran Student Organization leader for two years and co-led the weekly college student Bible Study.  She loves to attend basketball games and be a part of the Izzone.

David Voges

Project Connect Chair

Dave Voges has been a member at Martin Luther Chapel since 1992.  While at the Chapel, he has served in a number of positions and is currently chair of the Project Connect.

Rudy Abood

Head Trustee

Roosevelt (Rudy) Abood was reared in the Lansing area, attended Sexton and Everett high schools, graduated from Lansing Community College and Michigan State University (BS degree) in Math and Science.  Retired from Farm Bureau Insurance after 34 years in the IT division.  I have been a member of MLC since 2010, and in my third year as a trustee.  I love visiting and playing with my grand kids, hunting, and playing golf.  I am a big fan of college basketball and football, especially MSU.

Jeremy Lange


Jeremy Lange is from Okemos, MI and a graduate of Michigan Tech University where he received a bachelors in accounting in 2009.  He has been a member of MLC since 1988 and has served as the Treasurer for the last 2 years.  He is currently enrolled in the MBA program at Walsh College which he hopes to finish this December, after which he plans on sitting for the CPA exam.  When not working toward his CPA certification, he enjoys watching sports, playing golf, and spending time with friends and family all across Michigan.

Dan and Connie Hanrahan


Connie and Dan Hanrahan have been members of Martin Luther Chapel since 1988.  They are both graduates of Michigan State University.  Following several years as Financial Secretaries at the chapel they have been in the Assistant Treasurer role for the past three years.  They have two grown daughters, Maureen and Meghan.  Connie has recently renewed her passion for sewing and has also taken up yoga.  Dan is a golfer “wanna be.”

Jeff and Jenny Anderson

Financial Secretaries

Jeff and Jenny Anderson met while attending MSU and have been married for 32 years.  They have 3 grown children and 3 grandchildren with their 4th arriving in July 2016!  Jeff is an Administrator for the Michigan Department of Corrections and Jenny is Mentor for LifeTech Academy.  They have been members of MLC for over 7 years. They have served as Financial Secretaries for 6 1/2 years and Jenny has been trained as a Stephen Minister. They enjoy spending time with their family and their 2 Golden Retrievers.  They also enjoy playing euchre and trivia.

Todd and Lisa Parker

Financial Secretaries

Todd and Lisa Parker are both graduates of Michigan State University. Lisa in Accounting and Todd in Forestry. Lisa had lived in East Lansing her whole life and now works for Lyman Briggs College at Michigan State University as their Fiscal Officer. Todd comes from Stow, Ohio and moved to East Lansing to attend MSU. He works for Public Sector Consultants as a Program Senior Consultant. They have a daughter, Charlotte. She will be attending Pinecrest Elementary school in the Fall. They are avid Michigan State fans and love a good jigsaw puzzle.

Reed Kalso

Financial Secretary

Reed Kalso is a member of Martin Luther Chapel from Allen Park, MI. He began serving as a Financial Secretary this year. He graduated from Michigan State in 2009 with a degree in professional writing and works as a writer and editor. He participated in Spring Break Servant Events and led retreats with Martin Luther Chapel as a student, and became a Stephen Minister this year. Reed enjoys writing, reading, hiking, and a variety of sports and games.

Tim Miank

Financial Secretary

Tim Miank is a retired teacher, having spent nearly 33 years as a professor in the writing programs at Lansing Community College.  These days, to keep himself busy, he enjoys exercising, reading, doing crossword puzzles, and traveling.  He also enjoys working at Friendship House MSU, where he has been a volunteer teacher for the past couple of years, helping non-native speakers to improve their English skills, especially in speaking and writing.  And he’s a long-time MSU fan, since the mid-1960s, when he attended his first game in Spartan Stadium.  Tim has attended Martin Luther Chapel since 1983, the year he and his wife Kathy were married in the chapel.

Libby Lyons

Peer Ministry Leader

Libby Lyons is a junior Genetics major at MSU and she is planning to go on to dental school. She enjoys spending time with friends and being involved in campus organizations, like Science Theatre. She came to Martin Luther Chapel because of the great community that reminded her of her hometown church in Calumet, MI and immediately fell in love it. After becoming involved in one of the Bible studies and joining in on the fall retreat, Libby wanted to do more at Martin Luther Chapel. This will be her second year serving on the peer ministry team.


Anyssa Schember

My name is Anyssa Schember, and I am  studying Environmental Engineering as a junior in the fall. I'm from Ray, MI, and I graduated from Armada High School. I am part of Spartans for the Cure at MSU, and I also play on several intramural teams as well as spend time with my friends and family. I am part of the Peer Ministry leadership team, and this year will be my second year on that team. I started attending MLC the fall of my freshman year, and I'm hoping I can get more students to come and experience the community and love in Christ we all share there

Matthew Schleusener

Matthew Schleusener is a senior Computer Science major in the College of Engineering. He works for the State of Michigan as a student IT assistant. He started coming to Martin Luther Chapel two years ago, and this is his second year  on the peer ministry team.

Andrew Shuffett

Peer Ministry Leader

Andrew Shuffett is a Junior in Elementary level English Language Arts Education. After college, he plans on getting a job as a teacher before going back to school for a Master's Degree in History, so he might teach High School level history classes. He hails from Novi, Mi. and came into his faith when he began going to YoungLife, which prompted him to start attending church and Bible Studies. He led a group of Middle Schoolers in WyldLife, and loves working with people. Andrew loves playing video games, making music, and much, much more! This is his first year as a Peer Minister.

Rachel Streufert

Peer Ministry Leader

Rachel Streufert is a senior studying Biosystems Engineering at MSU, and is planning on going to graduate school upon graduation next year.  Rachel grew up heavily involved in her hometown church in Millstadt, IL and wanted to continue church activities once she came to university.  She is very involved in the church music program and mentors underclassmen in the Women in Engineering program at MSU.  This will be her first year as a peer minister at Martin Luther Chapel.

Megan Abbott

Lutheran Student Organization Leader

Megan Abbott is a senior at Michigan State University studying Agribusiness Agronomy. At Martin Luther Chapel, she has previously served on the Wednesday on Fire leadership team and is now serving her second year as part of the Lutheran Student Organization team. She got involved by a friend inviting her to Wednesday ON FIRE and Bible Study her freshman year and loved it so much she kept coming back. Aside from church, her hobbies include MSU football games, being a part of the Agronomy Club, snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, horseback riding, and going back home to help on the farm.


Kera Howell

Lutheran Student Org. Leader

Hi! My name is Kera Howell and I am Fremont, MI. I am studying Agriculture, Food and Natural Resource Education with a Biological Science minor. I am member and current President of the MSU Leadership in Environmental and Agricultural Fields Club (LEAF). I am also involved with projects throughout the Residential Initiative for the Study of the Environment (RISE) out of Bailey Hall’s Hoop house. I love to be active and play a variety of IM sports. I enjoy watching Michigan State athletics and attending many sporting events here on campus. I am passionate about helping people achieve their goals and making sure they never give up! I look forward to working on the Lutheran Student Organization team and getting to know everyone better to help bring more students to activities at church!

Sara Bollstetter

Lutheran Student Organization Leader

Sara Bollstetter is a junior at Michigan State University, where she is studying Chemistry. After completing her undergraduate degree, she plans to attend graduate school to earn her PhD, so she can do laboratory research. She is originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan. She enjoys watching movies and reading. Sara started coming to Martin Luther Chapel last year, and is excited to be more involved with the chapel this year, as a member of the Lutheran Student Organization. 

Katie Saunders

Lutheran Student Org. Leader

Katie Saunders is a junior at Michigan State University studying Neuroscience. This will be her first year serving Martin Luther Chapel, as part of the Lutheran Student Organization team. She became involved by attending the Spring Break Servant Event to El Paso, Texas, and then also going to Bible Studies. In her free time, she enjoys bike riding, hiking, and playing the piano. 

Nick Tuori

Lutheran Student Org. Leader

Nick Tuori is a sophomore Actuarial Science major at Michigan State. Outside of school, Nick does some sports writing and enjoys travelling with friends. He has found Martin Luther Chapel to be similar to his home congregation in Caledonia, MI and he really appreciates the community feel within the church. After attending the Cedar Lake retreat, Nick felt inspired to be more involved at Martin Luther Chapel. This will be Nick's first year with the Lutheran Student Organization.

Alexa Walkowicz

Wednesday ON FIRE Coordinator

Alexa Walkowicz is a junior Journalism/Graphic Design major in the College of Communications Arts and Sciences and the Honors College. Her passions include singing, art, and horseback riding. Her passion for Christ led her to Martin Luther Chapel initially, as MLC started her home church, St. Luke Lutheran in Haslett, MI. After discovering the wonderful Christ-centered community and a second home, she keeps coming back. This is her third year being involved at MLC, singing in the Wednesday ON FIRE band, attending Bible Study and the retreats, and going on two of the Spring Break Servant Events. Alexa strives to help build others up in their faith and make them feel welcome, as the people at MLC have helped do for her. Last year Alexa served as the Assistant Coordinator of Wednesday ON FIRE.  This is her second year on the Wednesday ON FIRE Leadership team where she is now serving as Coordinator.

Matt Champion

Wednesday ON FIRE Leader

Matt Champion is a junior studying Biosystems Engineering. When he isn't at church or school he likes to spend his time listening to music or playing video games with friends. He got involved at Martin Luther Chapel because of his youth pastor back home, in Kalamazoo Michigan. He has served as bassist for Wednesday ON FIRE for two years. This is his second year serving on the Wednesday ON FIRE leadership team.

Barbara Runstadler

Wednesday ON FIRE Leader

Barbara Runstadler is a junior in the College of Nursing. She plays on the club lacrosse team for MSU and enjoys the competition and traveling that the team entails. Along with playing on the lacrosse team, she will be starting a new job on campus doing clerical work for the Biomedical Laboratory Diagnostics Program. This will be Barbara’s second year as a Wednesday on FIRE leader. She has assisted in the tech booth and has been in charge of picking the worship videos for each Wednesday’s service. She knew that Martin Luther Chapel would hold a special place in her heart the first time she attended the Wednesday service and Bible Study. Ever since that first time at MLC, she has been involved as much as her schedule allows! Barbara looks forward to being back on campus in the fall and to leading more awesome, praise filled services on Wednesday!

Elizabeth Sauter

Wednesday ON FIRE Leader

Elizabeth Sauter is a sophomore Arts and Humanities and Political Science double major from Allendale, MI at MSU. Elizabeth came to Martin Luther Chapel because her sister attends the Church and her father also attended MLC when he went to MSU. Her sister was on the Wednesday ON FIRE team and encouraged her to join. This will be Elizabeth's first year on the Wednesday ON FIRE team. In her free time, Elizabeth enjoys reading as many books as she can get her hands on, acting and seeing anything on-stage, and watching Marvel and sci-fi/fantasy movies.


Michael VanBemmelen

Wednesday ON FIRE Leader

Michael VanBemmelen is a senior at MSU and is studying mechanical engineering.  He is a transfer student from Muskegon Community College, where he previously studied for two years before coming to East Lansing.  In his free time, he loves to play ultimate Frisbee and basketball with his friends, as well as play video games.  Michael was attracted to Martin Luther Chapel because of the diverse community and friendly people he met there.  He is very excited to serve his first year on the Wednesday On Fire team.
